What's the one and only fly in your fly box that you would never go without, and do you tie it yourself.
Mine is a size 12 green hothead with a black UV fritz body. Dead easy to tie and catches fish like nobody's business, I've seen some trout hitting the fly hard and swollowing it right down into their stomache, sorry to say when they do swollow the fly I have to dispatch them instead of releasing them again.
To tie the fly:-
1. Slide flo green hothead bead onto hook up to eye (use plastic bead for slow sink and flu green painted tungstan beads for a faster sink)
2. Wrap thread from behind bead to hook bend
3. Tie in UV fritz and wrap around hook up to bead (when tying on fritz, you can also add about 5 strands of silver tinsel for a tail piece, keep tail piece about 1/2 in long from bend of hook)
4. Secure UV fritz and build small head behind bead.
